Adani, Google team up for clean energy project in India

Renewable energy will be sourced from a hybrid plant in Gujarat.

Adani Group and Google have announced their collaboration that aims to accelerate clean energy adoption in India. Under this partnership, the Indian company will supply renewable power from its new solar-wind hybrid project in Khavda, Gujarat, which is expected to start commercial operations in the third quarter of 2025.

In a statement, Adani said this partnership will help advance Google’s 24/7 carbon-free energy goal by powering the latter’s cloud services and operations in India with clean energy. This will also contribute to the sustainable growth of the technology company in the country.

“With proven capabilities in delivering large scale wind, solar, hybrid and energy storage projects, Adani is well-positioned to provide customised renewable energy solutions to commercial and industrial (C&I) customers to meet their energy requirements and reduce their carbon footprint,” Adani said.

“Going forward, Adani plans to increase the focus on merchant and C&I segments to help decarbonise industries,” it added.
