Coal India, RRVUNL Sign MOU for 4,100MW Power Projects
These projects include coal, solar, pumped storage, and wind facilities.
Coal India Limited and the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore the development of 4,100 megawatts (MW) of thermal and renewable power generation.
In a statement, the Ministry of Cooal said the proposed projects under the collaboration will include two units with 800 MW capacity each of coal-based pit-head power plant in a coal-bearing state, with the power to be delivered to Rajasthan.

They will also develop a 2,000 MW of solar project in RRVUNL’s solar park, and 200 MW of pumped storage at Jawahar Sagar.
The collaboration will also include a 250 MW solar project on the land acquired for Banswara TPP by RRVUNL and a 50 MW wind project at the Ramgarh gas project in Jaisalmer.
