ENEOS acquires 20% stake in Norwegian floating offshore wind farm

The project has a 75,000 kW capacity.

ENEOS Renewable Energy (ERE) has purchased a 20% interest in the Norwegian GoliatVIND floating offshore wind farm, marking its first overseas offshore wind project.

In a statement, the company said this will also be its second floating offshore wind project, following the Gotō City offshore wind facility.

ERE is joining three other investors in the project, namely Source Galileo (40%), Odfjell Oceanwind (20%), and Kansai Electric Power Group (20%).

The GoliatVIND project will be a 75,000 kilowatt (kW) floating offshore wind farm in northern Norway, located at a depth of about 400 metres between the Norwegian Sea and Barents Sea.

This will have five 15,000 kW wind turbines mounted on Odfjell Oceanwind's Deepsea Star semi-submersible steel foundations.

The companies aim to start commercial operations in 2028.
