Indonesia Dafeng Heshun Energy Industri to build 1.2GW hydro project

It is planned to be commissioned by 2025 the earliest.

PT Indonesia Dafeng Heshun Energy Industri has signed a $1.6b (CNY11.5b) contract with China Gezhouba Group (CGG) to build the 1.2GW Data Dian hydropower project in North Kalimantan in Indonesia.

As part of the five-year EPC contract, CGG will oversee the design, construction material, procurement and commissioning for the plant. The project could be commissioned in 2025 at the earliest.

As of June, 4.9GW of hydropower capacity is operational in Indonesia, accounting for 7% of the country's power generation capacity. Around 2.4GW of hydro capacity is under construction, and an additional 24GW is under development.
