JSW Energy inks deal for 180 MW wind power
The agreement was signed with Amazon.
JSW Neo Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has signed a power purchase agreement with Amazon for 180 megawatts (MW) of wind power.
In a bourse filing, the company said the agreement brings its locked-in renewable energy commercial and industrial (C&I) capacity to 4 gigawatts (GW). This comprises 2.7 GW of JSW group captive capacity and 1.3 GW of third party C&I capacity, including capacity to be acquired from O2 Power.
Currently, JSW Energy has 8.2 GW of operational generation capacity across thermal, hydro and renewable sources, and a locked-in generation capacity of 30 GW. It also has 16.3 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of locked-in energy storage capacity through battery energy storage system and hydro pumped storage project.
JSW Energy aims for 20 GW generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity before 2030.
