JSW Energy, SECI ink PPA for 700 MW solar project

This will run for 25 years.

JSW Energy Limited said its step-down unit JSW Renew Energy Eleven Limited has signed a power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for ISTS connected 700 megawatt solar capacity awarded under SECI Tranche XIII.

In a disclosure, JSW Energy said the supply of power will be for a period of 25 years with a tariff of INR 2.56 per kilowatt-hour. The project is expected to be commissioned within 24 months.

JSW Energy aims to increase its operational capacity to 10 gigawatts (GW) by fiscal year 2025. It currently has 7.9 GW of operational capacity across thermal, hydro, and renewable energy, as well as 16.2 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of locked-in energy storage capacity through battery energy storage system and hydro pumped storage project.

The company aims to reach 20 GW generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity before 2030.
