Mongolian wind farm now good for 49.5 MW

The first phase of Meiya Power’s wind project in China is now into full commercial operations.

The completion and commissioning of the first phase of the Huide Wind Farm, located at Huade County in Wulanchabu City of Inner Mongolia, PRC, will yield a total installed capacity of 49.5 MW. It consists of 33 sets of 1.5 MW wind turbine/generator.

The project is owned and managed by Meiya’s PRC joint venture investment company Xiangtou International.

Dr. Alan W. Chan, Chairman and CEO of MPC, said: "We are now proceeding with Phase II of the project to install another 49.5 MW of wind capacity in 2009. When all six phases are fully completed, the Huide project will consist of 300 MW of wind power."

"The Huide project represents a significant step forward in MPC’s effort to further develop renewable energy sources in addition to the ongoing hydro power developments." he added.
