Neoen Australia’s 412 MW Goyder South Wind Farm generates power at full capacity
This boosts South Australia’s wind generation capacity by 20%.
Neoen Australia has announced that its 412 megawatt (MW) Goyder South Wind Farm has commenced full capacity generation.
According to the company, this is the largest wind farm in South Australia and in Neoen’s global portfolio. It is set to boost wind generation in the state by 20%.
The Goyder South Wind Farm is supported by three long-term power purchase agreements with ACT Government, BHP and Flow Power.
The project has 75 turbines and is expected to generate 1.5 terrawatt-hours of renewable energy annually.
It is the first wind farm to support a 24/7 renewable energy baseload agreement.
“We are well on track for South Australia to meet its goal of 100 per cent net renewables generation by 2027, and projects such as this are at the vanguard of that ambition,” said Tom Koutsantonis, SA Government’s Minister for Energy and Mining.
