Osaka Gas and Clean Max partner for renewable energy projects in India

Up to 400 MW of assets will be built in three years.

Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. is set to establish a joint venture (JV) with Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Pvt. Ltd. to develop renewable energy projects in India.

In a statement, Osaka Gas said a Japanese consortium will be established by its subsidiary Osaka Gas Singapore and Japan Bank for International Cooperation. Through this, and along with Clean Max, the JV company Clean Max Osaka Gas Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd. (CORE) will be formed.

Some projects under Clean Max will be transferred to CORE. It will also engage in the development of new assets to own approximately 400 megawatts of renewable assets within the next three years

CORE will also enter power purchase agreements with commercial and industrial customers to supply them with clean energy through the power grid.

The JV marks the Daigas Group’s entry into India’s renewables business.

Osaka Gas plans to expand its partnership with Clean Max to also pursue opportunities in new energies such as green hydrogen, and e-methane.
