PH approves commercial operations of 27.121 MWDC Dagohoy solar plant
This is amongst the four utility-scale ground-mounted solar projects under Rizal Green Energy.
Philippine authorities have approved the commencement of commercial operations of the 27.121 MWDC Dagohoy Solar Power Plant (DSPP), the first large utility-scale solar plant in Bohol province.
The commercial operations will start on 16 July, following the Energy Regulatory Commission’s approval on 4 July. The Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines also granted its approval on 8 July for the commercial operations date in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
The DSPP is amongst four utility-scale ground-mounted solar projects with aggregate capacity of 111.58 MWDC under Yuchengco-led Rizal Green Energy Corp. (RGEC), a partnership between its PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC) and Japan’s Taisei Corporation.
The other plants in the portfolio are the 19.61 MWDC San Jose plant in Nueva Ecija, which is awaiting government approvals, and the 25.01 MWDC Bugallon plant in Pangasinan and the 39.84 MWDC Limbauan solar plant in Isabela, which are both set for completion in late 2025.
“Our formal commercial participation in the WESM also marks the commencement of our power supply agreement with our offtaker SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP),” said PGEC AVP for Power Markets Dave Gadiano.
