Rooftop solar battery attachments up 35.5% in Q4 2023
Battery attachment surpassed 150,000.
Battery attachments to rooftop solar PV saw new additions of 18,427 in the fourth quarter, representing a 35.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
In a report, the Clean Energy Council said battery attachments are “steadily growing,” exceeding 150,000 since 2020.
More than a third of such installations were deployed in 2023 only.

CEC, meanwhile, said that only 18% of small-scale batteries were installed along with rooftop solar, which indicates potential for more deployments.
The council launched the Home Battery Saver Programme for this year which aims to provide rebates to customers to adopt home battery systems which could drive the increase of battery attachment rate.
