Vietnam to build largest onshore wind turbine by diameter

The wind farm has the largest single-machine capacity of Electric Wind Power’s projects.

Electric Wind Power, a wind power subsidiary of Shanghai Electric, has finalised a deal to provide advanced wind turbines to joint venture partners Hai Anh Wind Power Company, IPC Construction Joint Stock Company (IPC E&C), and Asia Industrial Technology Joint Stock Company (ACIT) for Hai Anh Wind Farm Project.

Located in Quang Tri Province, the project will operate Electric Wind Power's WH5.25-172 wind turbine unit, the largest onshore wind turbine diameter in Vietnam, to date.

The wind farm itself holds an area of 855.25 hectares with an installed capacity of 40 MW. With its hub centre height of 125 metres, the project has the largest single-machine capacity and the highest hub centre height of all Electric Wind Power’s global onshore projects.
