Ageing grids drive Asia's push for smart energy
Hitachi Energy focuses on upgrading infrastructure and delivering eco-friendly solutions.
With Asia’s rapid digital and industrial expansion, the region’s ageing power grids are facing mounting pressure to modernise.
“It is a big opportunity for Asia because of AI data centres. And some grids need revamping and sound replacement,” said William Chen, Marketing & Communications Manager at Hitachi Energy Taiwan Co., Ltd. “The challenge is definitely how we can provide reliable and available grid technology for the customer.”
Chen said Hitachi’s strength lies in its global research capabilities and strong regional support. “We have a long history and a very high pioneer of technology research and development,” he said. “We can provide a different customer in a different region support and resources.”
He added that customers are increasingly seeking “more eco-friendly and more green energy products and solutions” to meet sustainability targets.
Organised by TAITRA and the Green Energy and Sustainability Alliance (GESA) under SEMI, Energy Taiwan & Net-Zero Taiwan 2025 was held from 29 to 31 October 2025 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
