Cross-strait cooperation shapes Asia's green energy
Taiwan–China alignment is crucial as Asia accelerates its renewable push.
At the sidelines of Energy Taiwan & Net-Zero Taiwan 2025—organised by TAITRA and the Green Energy and Sustainability Alliance (GESA) under SEMI and held from 29 to 31 October 2025 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center—Wynnergy highlighted how cross-strait energy cooperation is emerging as a defining issue for the region.
Henry H.L. Ding, Vice Chairman and Chief Captain of Wynnergy, said the sector’s biggest shift is driven by the evolving Taiwan–China dynamic. “We will cooperate in the very near future in the energy sector,” he said, stressing that offshore wind and hydrogen development could advance once both sides leverage their respective advantages.
Manpower remains Wynnergy’s competitive edge. “We use only one set of crew… We don’t have the shadow crew on board,” Ding said. With green-energy demand surging across Asia, he added that Taiwan has “completed about 40% already” of its wind-farm rollout, creating a very wide opportunity to work with new partners.
