Motech launches new solar products for Asia
Chinese pricing pressure intensifies across regional markets.
Motech Industries is expanding its solar offerings with new application-specific modules as it navigates rising competition and shifting price pressures in Asia’s renewable energy sector.
Speaking at Energy Taiwan & Net-Zero Taiwan 2025—organised by TAITRA and GESA under SEMI and held from 29 to 31 October at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center—Section Manager Tiffany Huang said the company’s biggest opportunity lies in its ability to innovate.
“We’re going to launch lots of new products for different kinds of applications… for the airport or highway,” she said, noting growing demand for anti-glare, colour, and BIPV modules.
Innovation is central to Motech’s strategy. “We innovate a lot of different kinds of products for different kinds of applications every year,” Huang said. The company is currently developing flexible panels designed for more versatile use.
However, pricing remains a major challenge. “The competitors from China… their price is very, very low,” she said, citing pressure on Taiwanese manufacturers.
To meet growing energy needs, Motech is focusing on Taiwan’s domestic market while leveraging its China-based factory for global exports. “We use this factory to sell the goods to other countries… because the labor cost in China is cheaper,” Huang added.
