AREVA to provide 36 substations in India

AREVA closed a US$194.9 million deal with Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission for the turnkey design and construction of 36 substations.

The engineer-procure-construct alliance agreement indicated that substations of 220 kV and 132 kV will be provided at various locations across the State of Maharashtra, which is at west part of India.

Over the three-year period of the agreement, AREVA T&D will assist MSETCL to significantly upgrade and expand the transmission and distribution network of this rapidly growing industrial State.

Commenting on this agreement, Michel Augonnet, Executive Vice President of AREVA T&D's Systems business, said: "We are honored to have been chosen by MSETCL for the first EPC alliance of this kind in India and to support the substantial expansion of their network. This project confirms our expertise in the utility segment and significantly strengthens our leadership position in India."
