Suzlon no longer top Indian wind turbine maker

Wind World (India), Ltd is the new number one.

Suzlon Energy Ltd has ceded its position as India’s top wind-turbine manufacturer. The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association said, Suzlon had 415 MW of installations compared to Wind World’s 454 MW for the fiscal year ended March 21. Wind World was formerly known as Enercon (India).

Suzlon has reported difficulties in meeting production orders due to a lack of working capital. It said its performance last year was hampered by its debt problems and the suspension of two government incentives.

In April, Suzlon completed a US$1.8 billion)debt reorganization plan that will allow it to execute $7 billion of orders.
