India's first variable speed PSP goes online

The Tehri Hydro Power Complex has an installed capacity of 2,400 MW.

THDC India Limited has synchronised the first unit of India’s first variable speed pumped storage plant (PSP) with a capacity of 250 megawatts (MW) to the national grid.

In a statement, the company said synchronisation took place on 19 November.

R.K. He also said this development positions the project as a key contributor to the country’s transition towards a sustainable and resilient energy future.
