Vena Energy, Vivant Energy, Aboitiz form JV for 206 MW Philippines wind project

This will be one of the largest onshore wind projects in the country.

Vena Energy, Vivant Energy and Aboitiz Renewables signed a joint venture agreement to develop and operate the 206 megawatts (MW) San Isidro Wind Project in Central Philippines.

In a statement, Vena Energy said the Sonshore, an Isidro Wind Project located in Northern Samar in the Visayas region, will comprise 33 wind turbines with 6.25 MW each.

The project is expected to reach a financial close and start construction in the fourth quarter of 2023 and benign commercial operation in the first quarter of 2025.

The agreement was signed by Vivant Energy President and CEO Emil Garcia, Vena Energy Philippines Country Head Samrinder Nehria, Aboitiz Renewables President and COO James Villaroman, and Vena Energy Head of Investments in the Philippines Westin Raymond Contreras.
