Malaysia opens tender for 30 MWac floating solar plant

The tender will end on 8 December at 7:00 pm, Malaysia Time.

Malaysia’s Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has issued an international tender notice for the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the 30-megawatt alternate current floating solar project.

TNB said the tender for the power project located at the Chenderoh Reservoir will close on 8 December at 7:00 pm, Malaysia Time.

Under Malaysia’s renewable energy roadmap, it targets to increase the share of renewable energy mix to 31% or 12.9 gigawatts (GW) in 2025 and 40% or 18 GW in 2035.

The roadmap also identified 269 GW of solar potential, of which 201 GW will be comprised by ground-mounted solar, 42 GW by rooftop solar and 17 GW by floating configurations.
