Japan’s 21-MW wind farm starts operations in Hokkaido

J-Power owns 70% of the operator, whilst 30% is held by SymEnergy.

The Ishikari Green Energy Co., Ltd. started the operations of the 21-megawatt (MW) Ishikari Hachinosawa Wind Farm in Hokkaido, Japan.

The project is composed of five units with a capacity of 4.2 MW each.

J-Wind Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Electric Power Development Co. Ltd (J-Power) holds a 70% stake in Ishikari Green Energy. The remaining 30% is held by SymEnergy Inc.

J-Power now has 29 wind power projects with a total capacity of 766.2 MW, 23 of which are in operation, one is being updated, three are under construction, and two are in the planning stage for facility replacement.

The company has nine project sites in Hokkaido with a 210.7 MW capacity, eight of which are operational and one under construction.
