Sembcorp terminates gas sale deal in Indonesia
Regulators did not approve the transaction.
Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) has announced the termination of its Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) in Indonesia.
The agreement was signed by Sembcorp’s wholly-owned subsidiary Sembcorp Gas Pte Ltd with West Natuna Exploration Limited, Empyrean Energy PLC, and Coro Energy Duyung (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.
“As regulatory approval in Indonesia has not been obtained, the GSA will accordingly be terminated,” Sembcorp said.
This development is not expected to affect Sembcorp’s energy costs or its ability to meet gas supply requirements in Singapore. The company said it will continue to leverage its network of natural gas sources, including liquefied natural gas, to fulfill demand.
The termination of the GSA is not expected to have a material impact on the earnings per share and net tangible assets per share of Sembcorp for the financial year ending 31 December 2025.
