India issues over 5 GW RE tenders in March

Meanwhile, over 5 GW of renewables capacity were allocated to different developers.

India has issued around 5,100 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy tenders in March, according to JMK Research and Analytics.

In its latest report, JMK said one of the tenders was from NHPC for a 1,200 MW ISTS-connected solar tender with 600 MW/1200 megawatt-hour energy storage system.

Another tender issued was a 1,200 MW utility-scale solar project from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited in Gujarat, and a 900 MW wind project from NTPC in Andhra Pradesh.

For completed auctions, about 5,587 MW of renewable energy capacity was allocated to various developers. Half of these were wind-solar hybrid accounts, followed by solar at 40%, wind at 5.6%, and standalone storage at 4%.
