REC names new chairman and managing director

Jitendra Srivastava has over twenty years of experience, holding various positions.

REC Limited has named Jitendra Srivastava as its new chairman and managing director.

According to REC, he was appointed on 18 April by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. This appointment has been made in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India, under the Ministry of Power.

Srivastava has over two decades of distinguished service, holding key administrative and leadership roles across the Governments of India and the state of Bihar.

He served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti from January 2023 onwards. He was also secretary to the Government of Bihar in Home Department and the Public Health Engineering Department.

His assignments focused on various sectors such as finance, power, education, public health, and infrastructure. 

Srivastava holds a B.A. (Hons) in Economics from Delhi University's Hansraj College and MBA (Finance) from Cochin University of Science and Technology.
