AGL bags approval for Pottinger Energy Park

This will benefit over 800,000 homes.

AGL and its partner Someva Renewable have secured the green light for its Pottinger Energy Park in New South Wales’ (NSW) South West Renewable Energy Zone (SW REZ).

According to the company, the approval was granted by the Independent Planning Commission of NSW.

The Pottinger Energy Park could generate up to 1,300 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy from 247 wind turbines, supported by a battery of up to 500 MW / 2,000 megawatt-hours. At its peak, the facility could power the equivalent annual needs of approximately 830,000 average households.
