Kuwait Oil Company wins at Asian Oil & Gas Awards 2025

The company’s first fully integrated production optimisation system strengthens data-driven oilfield operations.

Kuwait Oil Company won Data Initiative of the Year - Kuwait in the Asian Oil & Gas Awards 2025 for its Production Integration Solution, the first fully integrated production optimisation system in the company’s history.

The initiative was designed to address the increasing complexity of oil production, which is influenced by factors such as new well activities, equipment failures, natural decline, and infrastructure limitations. The project unified more than 10 legacy and operational systems across planning, reservoir engineering, drilling, production, workover, and flowline operations. By consolidating structured, unstructured, real-time, and historical data into one intelligent platform, the system enables real-time analysis and more accurate decision-making.

For the first time, Kuwait Oil Company is able to track and account for every barrel of oil produced or lost. The system also identifies hidden losses and performance gaps, empowering decision-makers with data-driven actionable insights from a single source of truth. This minimises manual efforts, streamlines workflows, and strengthens cross-functional alignment, whilst directly supporting corporate performance targets.

The Production Integration Solution delivers measurable benefits. It improves recovery of deferred production, boosts uptime, and reduces data-related inefficiencies. The platform now serves as the central hub for all production analytics and data-driven initiatives, supporting proactive performance management across the organisation.
