Seatrench strengthens offshore presence in Asia's energy market
The company builds on decades of marine expertise and local partnerships to meet regional demand.
As Asia’s offshore energy market accelerates, Seatrench Offshore Philippines Ltd. Inc. is deepening its regional footprint, driven by rising project volumes and long-term infrastructure demand.
“We saw that the market here in Taiwan specifically is expanding quickly, and the volume is there. So we felt it was the correct time and the correct place to move in,” said Tom Mathisen, Director of Seatrench Offshore Philippines Ltd. Inc.
Mathisen highlighted Seatrench’s decades of industry experience as its core advantage. “Seatrench has been working in the shallow waters for more than 30 years around the world. So that’s our experience, that’s our knowledge, that’s how we design and we build our equipment based on that experience,” he said.
He emphasised that localisation remains central to Seatrench’s strategy. “You need to be present in each market… we go in, we partner up with local companies, local partners, and we work together,” Mathisen added.
Organised by TAITRA and the Green Energy and Sustainability Alliance (GESA) under SEMI, Energy Taiwan & Net-Zero Taiwan 2025 was held from 29 to 31 October 2025 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
