Envision signs 128MW turbine deal with Vietnam’s REE
The projects will use 16 EN-226/8.XMW offshore turbines.
Envision Energy has signed a turbine supply deal with Vietnam’s REE Group for two nearshore wind projects totaling 128MW in Vinh Long Province.
The projects, V1-3 Phase II (48MW) and V1-5 & 6 Phase II (80MW), will use 16 EN-226/8.XMW offshore turbines, making them the largest nearshore turbines in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
Construction on both projects will commence simultaneously, with average wind speeds exceeding 7 meters per second.
These projects are amongst the first approved under Vietnam’s Power Development Plan VIII (PDP VIII) and mark the country’s first deployment of large-rotor, high-capacity offshore turbines. Full grid connection is expected by October 2026.
The EN-226/8.XMW turbines are designed for high-humidity, high-salt conditions and have already secured 2.5GW in orders since 2022.
