Bihar group unable to settle hydro project loans

BSHPCL continues to ignore missives sent by PFC to settle its debts.

The former had refused to attend a meeting scheduled by the High Powered Committee of the Cabinet Secretariat, constituted for taking a final decision on this issue.

Bihar State Hydro Electric Power Corporation Limited owes US$3.4 million to Power Finance Corporation, as of December 9, 2010, at a concessional 13.5 per cent.

These are for the two loan PFC sanctioned for BSHPCL‘s Sone Western Canal and Eastern Gandak hydroelectric projects.
