More than 6,000 MW of capacities were also allocated to various developers.

Around 6,802 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy (RE) tenders were issued in October 2024 in India, led by NHPC’s 1,200 MW ISTS Connected solar bid, according to JMK Research’s latest report.

Another major player mentioned was Solar Energy Corporation of India with its 1,200 MW round-the-clock RE power tnder, and NTPC with its 1,200 MW wind-solar hybrid tender.

Aside from these, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL) issued a draft tender to set up standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a total capacity of 1,600 megawatt-hours (MWh) in Gujarat. Developers will build, own, and operate the BESS.

GUVNL will sign a battery energy storage purchase agreement with the winning bidders. The minimum bid size is 400 MWh (50 MW for 8 hours), and bids can increase in multiples of 50 MW/400 MWh.

JMK Research also reported that 6,316 MW of RE capacities were allocated to various developers last month. Avaada secured the highest capacity at 1,090 MW, followed by JSW Energy and Adani with 600 MW each.
