NSW launches directories to connect local businesses with renewable energy projects
It aims to strengthen local supply chains, create jobs, and boost regional economies.
NSW businesses can now more easily access the State’s growing renewable energy market through new sector directories.
The directories, developed by EnergyCo in partnership with the Industry Capability Network (ICN), are designed to make it easier for project developers to find and engage local suppliers across renewable generation, storage and transmission projects.
The first releases are the Power Transmission Directory and the Renewables Directory, covering solar, wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), hydro and emerging technologies.
The directories provide details on equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers involved in installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance. The goal is to help project developers identify and engage Australian suppliers at every stage of project development.
The launch comes as NSW’s renewable energy pipeline continues to grow, increasing demand for skilled suppliers and specialised services.
EnergyCo said strengthening local supply chains is critical to meeting that demand and is expected to support long-term jobs and economic benefits, particularly in regional communities.
