ACE names new executive director

Dato’ Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood was the CEO of Mayalsia’s Energy Commission.

The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) has announced that Dato’ Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood, who previously led the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) of Malaysia, is its new executive director effective 3 February.

In a statement, ACE said that Dawood has over 30 years of professional experience in the energy sector. From 2012 to 2017, he led Electricity Market Operations at the Energy Commission before serving as CEO of Malaysia Nuclear Power Cooperation in 2017-2018. He then became COO of the commission in 2018, acting CEO in 2019, and was officially appointed as CEO in August 2019.

He also assumed key roles in Australia’s energy sector, particularly at ElectraNet Pty Ltd and Senergy Econnect Australia Pty Ltd.

“I am committed to advancing the region’s efforts in creating an inclusive and sustainable energy future,” said Dawood.

“By strengthening regional cooperation, fostering innovation, and supporting capacity-building initiatives, we can accelerate the transition to clean energy and ensure energy security for all ASEAN Member States,” he added.
