ABB to supply substations to Indian steel plant

 ABB won a US$71 million contract to supply substations from the Steel Authority of India.

 

The substations will be employed at SAI's Bhilai steel plant located in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh.

Under the terms of the contract, ABB will provide switchgear, transformers, cables, fire protection and detection systems, and other power equipment.

In addition, ABB will also install the substation automation systems, adding the latest IEC 61850-compliant protection and control equipment.

The project is scheduled to be completed by 2013.
