Bihar to get additional 2960MW from NTPC

 

Bihar is set to receive an additional 2960 MW electricity from NTPC's new plants in eastern states.
 


Completely dependent on supply from the NTPC for power distribution, Bihar is presently drawing 1309 MW from the country's largest power producer, according to the Business Standard.

After completion of nine upcoming NTPC projects in the eastern states likely in the next five years, Bihar would receive another 2960 MW of electricity, sources in the Power ministry said here.
 


The projects in the pipeline are Barh Stage-I & II, Darlipali, Gajmara, Talchar stage III, Farakka stage III, Railway Nabinagar, Nabinagar and MTPS stage II.


The total installed capacity of these future projects would be 14,890 MW out of which allocation for Bihar would be 2960 M.
