Gamesa bags 50MW Maharashtra wind project

There was only one bidder.

It was only Gamesa Wind Turbines that submitted a bid for the project despite multiple time extensions issued by SJVN for bid submission.

As a result, it has been awarded an EPC contract worth Rs 351.80 crore from state-run SJVN for setting up a 50 MW wind farm in the state of Maharashtra.

Gamesa intends to set up a 47.5 MW wind project in the Ahmednagar district of the state.

The consultant however said that the only risk of significance that cannot be foreseen relates to the availability of wind. Wind being a natural phenomenon, its availability cannot be assured.

"However, the net CUF of the location has been calculated at 20.54%, whereas a generating Wind Power Project in the same area has a CUF of more than 21%.", PEC added.
