China's nuclear power generation jumped 13.3% in 9M2018

It comprised 4.1% of the national total in just the three quarters.

Reuters reports that China’s nuclear power generation jumped 13.3% to 193.77 billion kWh during the first nine months of the year.

According to the China Nuclear Energy Association, total nuclear power generation hit 4.1% of the national total in just the three quarters. The energy source is seen as China’s way to cut polluting and climate-warming fossil fuels.

China had aimed to lift total capacity to 58GW by the end of 2020 and add another 30 GW under construction. However, no new conventional reactor has been approved by the authorities in around three years.
