South Korea, Poland cooperate in nuclear power, defense 

Discussions also covered development of hydrogen, battery and CCUS. 

South Korea and Poland have discussed collaboration in developing nuclear power, defense, and technology, the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE) reported. 

The bilateral cooperation washeld during Trade, Industry and Energy Minister Lee Chang-yang’s visit to Poland last 30 June, where he met with Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moskwa and Parliamentary Caucus Head of Law and Justice Ryszard Terlecki.

Minister Lee and Minister Moskwa signed two memoranda of understanding for the Korea-Poland energy cooperation which will cover nuclear, hydrogen, and e-mobility amongst other energy areas. 

Separately, Ministers Lee and Terlecki discussed ways South Korea could contribute to Poland’s energy security. They also tackled battery, social overhead capital, and collaboration across a variety of other industries.

Six Korean companies and nine Polish companies have also participated in the Korean Nuclear and High-tech Day event, during which a total of nine nuclear sector cooperation MOUs were signed. 

These covered areas such as engineering, machinery, construction, and the nuclear industry value chain.
