Tata Power sets FY 2025 capex to $2.44b for renewables expansion

This will also fund transmission and distribution businesses.

Tata Power is allocating $2.44b (INR20,000 crore) for its capital expenditure in fiscal year 2025, higher than the previous year’s $1.46b (INR12,000 crore), to accelerate its clean energy portfolio and boost its transmission and distribution infrastructure.

This was announced by Tata Power Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran during the recently conducted annual general meeting.

“The company will also explore participation in small modular nuclear reactors, once the government gives necessary permissions apart from new distribution expansion opportunities in other states, as and when these opportunities arise in line with government policies,” he added.

Tata Power eyes increasing its clean energy portfolio to 15 gigawatts (GW) from the existing 9 GW, both from existing and ongoing projects, in five years.

The company earlier reported a 10% increase in its revenue to $7.51b (INR61,542 crore) for fiscal year 2024.
