ACEN bags Central-West Orana REZ access rights for three clean energy projects
The projects include a solar and battery energy storage facility.
ACEN Australia has secured access rights to the Central West-Orana Renewable Energy Zone for three of its renewable power projects in New South Wales.
In a statement, the company said its 920 megawatt (MW) Valley of the Winds, 600 MW Birriwa Solar, and 600 MW/2hr Birriwa battery energy storage system projects have secured the right to connect to the REZ transmission infrastructure assets.
The Birriwa Solar and BESS projects were approved by the New South Wales Department of Planning in August 2024, and the Valley of the Winds project is in the final stage of the development planning review process.
This development comes after ACEN Australia closed $474.68m (AU$750m) in portfolio debt refinancing last month.
“Securing access rights for these high-value projects reflects our disciplined, responsible approach to development and strengthens ACEN Australia’s position as a trusted partner in our nation’s clean economy,” said ACEN Australia Managing Director David Pollington.
