Adani Green bags 1,250 MW energy storage capacity

This has a minimum commitment of 40 years.

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has received the letter of award for a 1,250-megawatt (MW) energy storage capacity from pumped hydro storage projects (PSP).

In a statement, the company said the project, Panaura PSP, was awarded by Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited and has a minimum commitment of 40 years. It will be located in the Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh and is expected to be completed within the next six years.

Adani Green plans to add over 5 gigawatts of hydro PSP capacity by 2030. It has so far commenced the construction of its existing projects, including a 500 MW facility at Chitravathi river in Andhra Pradesh, another1,500 MW at Tarali in Maharashtra, and 1,800 MW at Gandikota in Andhra Pradesh.
