Arrow Energy to expand Surat Gas Project late 2024

This will add 130 terajoules of gas to the market daily.

Arrow Energy has announced the expansion of its 27-year Surat Gas Project (SGP) beginning later this year to an area north-east of Miles in Queensland’s Western Down.

In a statement, the company said that the expansion will bring more than 130 terajoules of additional gas to the market per day for long-term contract and domestic customers.

The SGP North development will cover the construction of up to 450 new gas production wells, a new field compression station, 27 kilometres of pipeline, and road and infrastructure upgrades over two phases.

SGP is located in Queensland’s Surat Basin where Arrow Energy has been producing natural gas for clean energy since 2004. It is expected to comprise up to 2,500 gas wells and produce 4,000 petajoules of gas.
