Avaada secured 820 MWp hybrid project in India

This will involve a 25-year PPA with SJVN.

India’s Avaada Energy has bagged an 820 megawatt-peak (MWp) hybrid project from state-owned power producer SJVN through an e-Reverse Auction.

Under the deal, Avaada said in a statement it will sign a 25-year power purchase agreement with SJVN, with the projects expected to be completed within 24 months.

Avaada will set up a total of 820 MWp of solar and wind capacity against the Awarded Hybrid Renewable Capacity awarded by SJVN. These shall relate to the Inter-State Transmission System and will deliver power to State Owned Distribution Companies through the High Voltage Transmission system of National Grid.

The projects are expected to generate around 1.6 billion units of renewable energy annually, powering more than 1.1 million households. Furthermore, these are projected to cut carbon emissions by 1.49 million tonnes annually.
