Engie abandons planned solar farm in New South Wales

This was decided following concerns from the affected community.

Engie has decided not to push through with its Yass Solar Farm in New South Wales after investigations and consideration of concerns raised by the community affected by the project.

“ENGIE has decided not to pursue the Yass Solar Farm project further, or to lodge an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS),” the company said.

ENGIE said any potential new project in the future “will involve community input prior to the lodgement of a scoping report, to ensure that community voices are heard and considered.”
