JAPEX, IINO ink deal for 30 MW of solar plants

They plan to complete these by 2030.

Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (JAPEX) and IINO Kaiun Kaisha, Ltd. have signed a memorandum of understanding for a joint solar power plant project.

In a statement, the companies said they aim to install solar power plants with a cumulative output of approximately 30 megawatts by 2030.

“IINO will consider reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with its electricity use by supplying the environmental value created from the electricity generated from the power plants to its owned buildings,” they said.

JAPEX aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, expanding into solar power as part of its strategy. Meanwhile, IINO aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, with a 75% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030.
