JERA sells stake in Thai solar project
This consists of six mega solar plants.
Japan’s JERA Co. Inc. has sold its entire 49% stake in the solar VSPP power generation project in Thailand to Gunkul Engineering Public Company Limited.
Gunkul is based in Thailand and is involved in renewable energy power generation, manufacturing and sale of power transmission, distribution and substation equipment, engineering, procurement, and construction of power plants, and operation and maintenance business.
JERA said it will continue to renew its portfolio, “selling assets and reinvesting the proceeds as it optimises its asset allocation for compatibility with a changing business environment and seeks to expand earnings.”
The Thai project consists of six mega solar power plants, namely the 3 megawatt (MW) Bangkluai1, 4.4 MW Bangkluai2, 8 MW Wichienburi, 8 MW Srichula, 4.5 MW Noenpor, and 3 MW Buengsamphan. Some of the facilities have been operating since 2011 and some since 2013.
