JSW Energy bags additional 400 MW wind-solar project from MSEDCL

This increases its cumulative capacity to 600 MW.

JSW Neo Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has been awarded an additional 400 megawatts (MW) of Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Project under the greenshoe option from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) against MSEDCL – Phase III. 

This brings JSW Neo's total capacity allotted under Phase III to 600 MW, a company statement said.

With this capacity award, JSW Energy's total locked-in generation capacity has increased to 17.6 gigawatts (GW), including a total locked-in hybrid capacity of 3.2 GW.

JSW Energy expects to have an installed generation capacity of 10 GW by fiscal year 2025, up from the current 7.5 GW. 

The company's total locked-in generation capacity includes 7.5 GW of operational plants, 2.3 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro, and a renewable energy pipeline of 7.7 GW. Additionally, it has 4.2 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of locked-in energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects.

JSW Energy aims to increase its generation capacity to 20 GW and its energy storage capacity to 40 GWh before 2030. The company aims for carbon neutrality by 2050.
