Ørsted generates first power at Greater Changhua 2b and 4

This was achieved five months after offshore construction began.

Ørsted has achieved first power at the 920 megawatt Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms in Taiwan.

According to the company, this was generated five months after offshore construction began and three months since installing the first suction bucket jacket foundations.

The is also the first offshore wind farm to supply renewable energy to the semiconductor TSMC under a 20 year corporate power purchase agreement.

The project wull feature 66 wind turbines with 14 megawatt capacity, boosting “Taiwan’s offshore wind capacity and contribute to its energy transition once fully operational.”
