POWERCHINA connects Vietnamese wind projects to power grid

This will benefit around 48,000 homes annually.

POWERCHINA has announced that the Huong Linh 3 and Huong Linh 4 wind power projects in Vietnam have been fully connected to the grid.

In a statement, the company said the projects have an installed capacity of 60 megawatts, allowing it to supply 165 gigawatt-hours of clean electricity to Vietnam's national grid annually. The wind energy facilities will address the demand of approximately 48,000 local households annually, and reduce carbon emissions by around 132,000 tonnes.

POWERCHINA is also involved in the construction of the Soc Son Waste-to-Energy Plant.

Li Xiuquan, project manager at POWERCHINA, said this project will become the largest single-unit waste-to-energy plant in Asia once completed.

The facility can transform 4,000 tonnes of garbage into energy, generating about 30 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity annually.
