CLP HK launches online assessment tool

CLP Power Hong Kong Limited announced the launch of a brand new user friendly online energy assessment tool, Eco optimizer, which will help 20 lakh residential consumers use energy more efficiently.

Through benchmarking, analysis and customized energy saving solutions, the system will help consumers save on their energy costs, as well. This is another step by the company towards promoting the concept of energy efficiency and conservation.

In an effort to contribute towards a low-carbon business in the Asia Pacific region, CLP`s Jiangbian hydro power station has officially come into commercial operation early, as it was completed ahead of schedule. The 330 MW power project is the company`s first wholly-owned Greenfield hydro power project in Mainland China. The plant will provide clean energy to Sichuan`s provincial power grid, with an expected output of 1.455 Million kWh per annum.

The wholesale price index for the major group `fuel and power` -- for the week ended September 24, 2011 -- remained unchanged at its previous week`s level of 169.4 (provisional). The annual rate of inflation, calculated on a point-to-point basis, has also remained unchanged from its previous week`s level of 14.69% (provisional) for the above week.
