India Renewable Energy Ministry gets 20% budget hike

The ministry of New and Renewable Energy has gotten a 20 per cent increase in budget allocation.

 

With the government working on several ambitious clean energy programmes, the Budget for the Ministry was hiked to US$269.5 million this year. The total allocation for ministry last year was US$224 million. 

The government has been focusing on developing renewable energy sources in the country and has also started the National Solar

Mission last year, under which it plans to generate 20,000 MW power by 2022.
